No fines are just fine with some libraries

Of all the feel-good attributes of public libraries — free books and movies, comfortable areas to read and helpful staff — there’s always been the party killer: the overdue fine. Designed to keep items in the hands of more people, the fine is the gentle slap on the wrist to encourage sharing. The Delaware County District Library has taken a different approach: eliminating the fines altogether.
