Newark's new downtown murals revive past

NEWARK — It can be difficult to escape the construction in this Licking County seat these days. Downtown Newark is undergoing a sewer-and-street overhaul project around the courthouse square and renovations to the Licking County Courthouse. While much of downtown is getting a fresh look, colorful peeks into the city’s history are emerging through the construction dust, as murals are being splashed on exterior walls.
