Newark police identify man found dead in creek

NEWARK, Ohio – Newark police have identified the man found dead in a creek Wednesday evening.According to police, the body of 55-year-old Rodney D. Blankenship was found in Raccoon Creek near N. 21st Street and State Route 16.Teens in the area first discovered the body and notified authorities. The investigation is ongoing.Anyone with information or who had recent contact with Blankenship is asked to call Newark Police at (740) 670-7200.
