New Franklin County morgue to replace Frank Road school

Franklin County’s new morgue and forensic science center will be built on the site of a former elementary school in the southwestern part of the county. A county consultant recommended that commissioners build the $31 million center at 2090 Frank Road, a 10-acre property Franklin County acquired in a land swap with South-Western schools in 2014. The district used that school as a “swing space” this year while it built another elementary school.
