Motorcylist killed on Northwest Side

A motorcyclist died late Thursday night after crashing into a tree on the Northwest Side. Justin Gillie, 40, was riding northbound on Thatcher Drive approaching Rossbury Court when he lost control of the motorcycle, ran off the west side of the roadway and struck a tree, according to Columbus police. Columbus police received the call at 11:37 p.m., and Gillie was taken to OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at midnight.
