Mother whose 3-year-old shot himself gets probation

A South Side woman was placed on probation today for one year for failing to secure a loaded handgun that her 3-year-old son used to shoot himself in the abdomen. Damira M. Crowder, 24, pleaded guilty to a felony count of child endangering in Franklin County Common Pleas Court. Judge Guy Reece followed a recommendation from prosecuting and defense attorneys in placing her on probation as part of a plea agreement.
