More than 100 LGBT Methodist clergy come out before denomination meeting

More than 100 United Methodist Church clergy members and clergy candidates have publicly come out as having gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and other orientations in defiance of the denomination's rules governing sexuality. The group of 111 came out in a letter to the church a day before the United Methodist Church opens its general conference in Portland, Ore., where issues of sexuality will be debated.
