More identity thieves seeking Ohio income-tax refunds

Attempted tax fraud continues to surge in Ohio, with nearly $257 million in illegitimate refund requests blocked by the Ohio Department of Taxation during 11 months this year. The tax agency caught 232,898 suspicious claims through November, bringing the two-year total in prevented financial losses to $533 million, taxation officials said.
