Metro library will purchase Hilliard property

The Columbus Metropolitan Library board agreed Wednesday to purchase a building on 6.8 acres at a failed senior-living development in Hilliard for what will become the largest of its 22 branch libraries. Under the agreement, the library will pay $800,000 of the $6.8 million purchase price to Greenwich Investors Hickory Chase LLC for the property and building on the former Hickory Chase site, an ambitious senior housing project that was a victim of the housing collapse.
