Man who hit Sacramento mayor with pie is charged

A man has been formally charged with assault and battery after hitting Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson in the face with a pie.Sean Thompson, a 32-year-old local activist, was charged Friday with one count of felony assault against a public official and one count of misdemeanor battery.The mayor and former NBA star was greeting people at an outdoor charity dinner Wednesday when a man approached him from behind and shoved the dessert in his face. The mayor struck back and tackled Thompson.Thompson
