Man shot, critically wounded by security guard

A security guard shot and critically wounded a man at a Southeast Side apartment complex Thursday night. The guard, who has not been identified by Columbus police, told officers he was defending himself when he shot a 21-year-old man driving a vehicle at him. The driver, Christopher A. Wilkes, was shot in the upper body and crashed the car near Park Trails Apartments in the 5500 block of Tinley Park.
