Man killed in Athens County crash; drugs, alcohol suspected

Athens, Ohio – A man is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Athens County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.Troopers say Travis Barber, age 28, of Reedsville, was driving southbound on SR-144 Sunday morning when he slid off the left side of the road striking a ditch. Barber fled the crash.Authorities say the passenger Michael Taylor, age 54, of Coolville, died on scene due to his injuries.Alcohol and drugs is the suspected cause of the crash.
