Man hit and killed by train near Franklin-Madison County line identified

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office has confirmed one person was killed after being hit by a train.The incident happened Friday around 7:30 p.m. near the Franklin-Madison County line on railroad tracks between Hubbard Road and State Route 142.According to the Sheriff Department witnesses told investigators a male was walking westbound on the railroad tracks west of Hubbard Road when he was struck by a westbound Norfolk Southern freight train.Authorities identified the man as 26-year-old Daniel
