Man faces up to 17 years for fatal Whitehall shooting

A 28-year-old man could be sent to prison for as long as 17 years after pleading guilty Wednesday to a fatal shooting in Whitehall. Ra'Shaan K. Carter Johnson pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter with a gun specification and tampering with evidence in the death of 24-year-old Robert L. McGowan III. He will be sentenced on Sept. 15 by Franklin County Common Pleas Judge Kim Brown.
