Local VFW hosts ceremony to honor those who lost their lives serving

The VFW 9857 post in Columbus on Stelzer Road held a ceremony to honor those who lost their lives serving. Local veterans from all different branches and times of war gathered for the service at noon.A prayer was said at the beginning, a speech was read naming those who lost their lives and veterans performed a gun salute.Ron Ward, who served in the Vietnam War, is the new upcoming commander. He said he hopes people remember the real meaning behind Memorial Day. He said it's not just about cooki
