Lobbyist John Raphael’s influence spread swiftly

During a Columbus City Council meeting earlier this year, Marty Savko blasted away at city officials who had passed over his concrete company for a road construction project. Savko hasn’t always had trouble landing city contracts. For nearly two decades, his family business was among nearly 30 clients of a well-connected City Hall lobbyist who could handle such things out of the public eye: John Raphael.
