NEWARK – According to Licking County Sheriff Randy Thorp, a deputy in his office was treated at Licking Memorial Hospital and released after being struck by a truck and discharged his firearm.The deputy, Sgt. James Miller, who has 16 years with LCSO, was searching for suspects in a burglary when he fired shots and was struck by a vehicle while standing outside of his own.
