Levy now would avert deficits later, Columbus schools say

Flash back to mid-October 2013, when then-Columbus City Schools Treasurer Penny Rucker revised the district’s five-year financial forecast just weeks before the district would ask voters to raise property taxes for schools 24 percent. The improved forecast helped to send that levy to a resounding defeat.
