Lamenting education is worse, state school board member resigns

A Dayton-area representative on the 19-member State Board of Education has resigned because he is moving out of state. A.J. Wagner, a former Montgomery County Common Pleas Court judge who has served on the board for two years, praised his fellow board members, but lamented that he had not been a more effective advocate for children, particularly those living in poverty.
