John Switzer commentary: ‘Indian summer’ origin hard to pin down

Autumn begins at 4:21 a.m. on Wednesday, and the season that many people have been eagerly awaiting will finally be here. Autumn usually means many sunny days with no heat or humidity, football, apple and pumpkin picking, colored leaves, Halloween, cold cider and Thanksgiving. That’s a full plate with so much to enjoy in so little time before the snow flies.
