John Boehner says he'll remain speaker until House finds replacement

Less than a half hour after House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy dropped out of the race for speaker, Speaker John Boehner said he was “confident” McCarthy had the votes in the GOP caucus and in the House. “I’m confident he’ll win today and I’m confident he’ll win on Oct. 29,” Boehner told Ohio reporters in a half hour long interview Thursday immediately before a scheduled GOP caucus vote on the next speaker.
