Joe Blundo: Did Columbus really have the nationa s first junior high school?

Ohio State University announced last week that it would pursue buying the old Indianola Junior High School building, at 420 E. 19th Ave.  Indianola, established in 1909 in a different building, is often referred to as the first junior high in the nation. I have written so myself, thinking that it is an undisputed fact.
