Jobless-benefits 'offset' might exempt disability recipients

A controversial bill to slash unemployment benefits probably will be changed to benefit some Ohio workers. State Rep. Barbara Sears, a Sylvania Republican and sponsor of House Bill 394, said she is looking into modifications to better assist construction workers, who often face a higher rate of unemployment, and those receiving Social Security disability benefits.
