Jail inmates could work at Franklin County Dog Shelter

Non-violent female inmates would be allowed to work in the county animal shelter under a proposal officials at the Franklin County Jail made to commissioners this morning. The program, if the commissioners approve it, could begin as early as December, said Maj. Penny Perry, who runs the Downtown jail for the sheriff’s office.
