Hocking Hills observatory planned to counter light pollution

According to the American Association for the Advancement of Science, light pollution prevents more than 80 percent of North Americans from seeing the Milky Way from their yards. Increased light from development in recent years has affected the views from Perkins Observatory, just south of Delaware. Disappointed by the diminished nighttime views, a group of amateur astronomers in Ohio is working to establish the John Glenn Observatory and Astronomy Park at Hocking Hills State Park.
