Highway patrol: "unsafe speed" causes deadly Athens County crash

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash on Bates Road, just north of Hawks Nest Road that took the life of a 26-year-old man in Athens County on Saturday.According to OSHP, the driver lost control of the vehicle and slid off the left side of the road. The vehicle struck a tree, fence and house before stopping.The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by the Athens County Coroner, according to police.
