Heroin addiction ended in a lonely death

At times, especially the bad times, the family felt as though there were two Courtneys. There was Courtney Penix, the girl who grew up in Brown Township, who showed her horse, Taco, through 4-H until she was 16. That Courtney attended Hilliard schools, worked as a nanny and could be unblinkingly honest with those who loved her.
