Ginther's budget boosts spending on safety, education, neighborhoods
Mayor Andrew J. Ginther wants Columbus to spend more money in 2017 to improve its neighborhoods, offer better early childhood education and train more public safety forces. Ginther rolled out his first budget as Columbus mayor at the Hilltop YMCA on Thursday. The $865.8 million spending plan is nearly 6 percent higher than what the city expects to spend in 2016.
