Columbus commuters soon will share the road with driverless vehicles, have access to smart transit passes and drive past traffic signals that talk to vehicles. After winning a $50 million competition to become the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Smart City, Columbus is set up to become the national hub for intelligent transportation systems. But it won’t happen overnight.
