Gas failure in New Albany leaves 1,100 freezing
Sure, it was cold outside — but for about 1,100 New Albany homes and businesses, it was a frigid Tuesday inside as well. After pressure dropped in its system about 8:30 a.m., Columbia Gas shut down gas service and purged underground pipes, leaving many without gas in the Hampsted Village, Main Street and Market Street areas of New Albany for most of the day.
