Furnace problem caused South Side house explosion, officials say
Officials confirmed Saturday that the furnace within a South Side house was the source of a natural-gas leak that caused an explosion there the night before. The explosion of the home at South Champion Avenue and Stockbridge Road occurred just after 6 p.m. Friday night, said officials with the Columbus Division of Fire. No one was in the home at the time, and no one was injured.
