Franklinton man says fatal shooting was self-defense

A man told Columbus police he was defending himself when he fatally shot another man who was trying to rob him at his house in Franklinton on Monday afternoon. After the shooting, the man went next door and called Columbus police to the first block of Rodgers Avenue just before 2:30 p.m. The structure is a duplex, and the shooting occurred toward the rear of the house.
