Franklin County judge charged with obstruction following OVI arrest

PICKERINGTON – A second-degree misdemeanor charge of obstructing official business was filed against Franklin County judge Monica Hawkins on Monday.The charge is a result of Hawkins resisting when having her blood drawn following an arrest for OVI on Jan. 31.Hawkins resisted the blood draw at OhioHealth Pickerington even after police obtained a warrant for the procedure, according to the affidavit filed in Fairfield County Municipal Court.Hawkins continued to resist when she was held down
