Fran Ryan, 81, returns to Columbus City Council about four decades after exit

The last time Fran Ryan sat on the dais at Columbus City Council, the Columbus Clippers had just christened the field at Cooper Stadium, Jimmy Carter was president and people were still mourning Elvis. And now, nearly 40 years later, Ryan is back where it all began – on city council. The six sitting members of the council unanimously approved Ryan on Monday night to fill the vacancy left when Michelle M. Mills resigned last month.
