Firefighters contain Marion building fire after small propane tank explosion

MARION - A small explosion at the Marion Public Health building downtown caused many streets to shut down Friday afternoon, according to the Marion Star.Marion Fire Department Captain Wade Ralph said it happened around 4 p.m. when a 20-pound propane tank exploded, sending shrapnel across the roof as Marion firefighters battled the blaze.K&W Roofing had a crew working on a project at the building since mid-March.
