Few congregations choose women as pastors

More churches are nondenominational, worship services are more informal and, depending on the denomination, acceptance of gays has grown substantially. A lot has changed in the American religious landscape in the past 17 years. But one thing hasn’t changed: The person in charge of the congregation is no more likely to be a woman today than in 1998.
