Fairfield County deputy fired after shoplifting accusation
LANCASTER, Ohio — A second Fairfield County deputy is no longer with the office after he was shown on a security-camera videotape shoplifting from a Wal-Mart in Reynoldsburg where he was working special duty, Sheriff Dave Phalen said. Phalen said he fired Ed Curry, a deputy since 1999, today after he reviewed a videotape showing Curry shoplifting from the store on Dec. 12. Curry was in uniform when he shoplifted merchandise after he finished working a special-duty shift, Phalen said.
