Facebook announces plans for new data center in New Albany

NEW ALBANY, Ohio – Social media giant Facebook plans to build a $750 million data center in New Albany.The center will be completed in 2019 and create 100 permanent jobs. Construction will spur 1,000 jobs.This is the 10th data center for Facebook. It will be located off Beech Road and State Route 161.New Albany is currently home to data centers for American Electric Power, Abercrombie & Fitch and Amazon. The Facebook data center will be the city’s largest.
