Elections board extends director's paid leave, awaits his resignation

The Franklin County Board of Elections extended the paid leave for its executive director, William A. Anthony Jr., as it awaits his resignation after he was indicted last month on felony charges of tampering with records and theft in office. The four-member board voted unanimously to extend Anthony’s leave until Aug. 15, a two-week extension during which they expect him to resign and retire.
