Elderly man dead at fire scene

Columbus police and fire investigators were working to determine what killed an elderly man who found in a burning North Side apartment early Saturday morning. Fire crews responding to a fire in an apartment building at 4800 Tamarack Boulevard call just before 4:00 a.m. were met with a heavy smoke confined to one apartment, spokesman Battalion Chief Steve Martin said.
