Education Insider: Colleges want focus on applicants’ ethics

A consortium led by the two universities that likely bear the nation's largest share of responsibility for application angst — Harvard and Yale — says it's determined to dial down the stress in college admissions. The "Turning the Tide" movement says that colleges and universities should put more value on an applicant's ethical character and concern for others and less on individual performance and achievements.
