The lawyer for a man described by government officials as leading a multimillion-dollar, cocaine-distribution ring in Columbus blamed his downfall on a midlife crisis. “Sadly, Jorge had the classic midlife crisis, where he began carousing, drinking too much, partying too much, associating with people who weren’t good for him,” defense attorney Tim Merkle said in federal court on Thursday.
