Downtown’s venerable Main Bar staying put for now

The venerable Main Bar Downtown isn’t going anywhere. For now. Surrounded by new apartments and other development, the future of the squat building at 16 W. Main St. was in doubt after the owner of the property on which the bar sits filed suit last year, trying to evict the bar owners while citing in part a rent-escalation provision from a lease that dates from before the Civil War.
