Diarrheal disease outbreak grows to nearly 1,000 cases
The highly contagious diarrheal disease outbreak that hit central Ohio this past summer continues to make people ill, say health officials who have raised the tally to 966 people. A month ago, the number hit 800. While the number of diagnosed cryptosporidiosis cases in Franklin and Delaware counties is at an all-time high, fewer cases are being diagnosed on a daily basis, said Columbus Public Health spokesman Jose Rodriguez.
