Despite Orlando shooting, thousands come out to support Columbus Pride Parade

The Columbus Pride parade has long been a festive and popular event. This year, organizers and marchers were more determined than ever to make sure it was a powerful and emotional event. Less than a week after a mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando that killed 49 people, marchers and spectators came Downtown in droves to attend the 35th annual Pride parade. Around 400,000 people were expected to participate in the weekends Pride events, which include the parade and a weekend-long festival
