Delaware County deputy demoted, suspended

A sergeant with the Delaware County Sheriff's Office will be demoted and receive a three-day suspension after an investigation concluded that he was publicly intoxicated, rowdy and driving under the influence. Jon Burke, 41, has had numerous other disciplinary problems since joining the department in 1999, including failure to report to work, crashing vehicles, using his cellphone while driving and being inattentive and rude to the public, according to his personnel records.
