December weather was warmest on record in Columbus

It wasn’t exactly beach weather, but the average temperature in Columbus in December was a record 44.7 degrees. That’s 11.2 degrees above normal, and just higher than the record 44.6 degrees of December 1889, said Kristen Cassady, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Wilmington, Ohio.
