Deadly Trump Tower fire: No sprinkler system in apartments

NEW YORK - Authorities said there is no sprinkler system in Trump Tower in New York City.A man died in a fire that started in an apartment on the 50th floor of the building on Saturday.The high-rise was completed in 1983. According to USA Today, that was several years before the city required sprinkler systems in high-rise buildings containing apartments.Owners of older buildings are only required to add the systems when major renovations take place.
