Crowds gather at Statehouse to remember John Glenn

Pausing momentarily in reverence before the flag-draped casket, Ohioans began filing past the bier of an American hero in the Statehouse rotunda this afternoon. Some paused, bowing their heads, for a brief prayer. Some Catholics crossed themselves. A few veterans snapped off salutes. Five Marines with rifles are standing sentry as the public begins to pay respects to the late John H. Glenn Jr., astronaut and statesman.
