Crime labs see test results for fentanyl double this year
A week after state health officials reported a sharp increase in fentanyl-related overdose deaths in Ohio, here’s more bad news: the deadly drug is spiking in tests results from state crime labs. Fentanyl, a synthetic opiate 30 to 50 times as potent as heroin, resulted in 502 overdose fatalities last year, helping push up the statewide death toll nearly 17.6 percent, the Ohio Department of Health reported.
